Exhibition: “Squash: 2011”

I decided to take a risk and paint directly onto the wall of the exhibition space, which worked really well: the time constraint and adrenaline meant I managed to break free of my usual A3-sized restraint and produce something quick, fluid and intuitive. I am also happy that I finally managed to realise some of my more ambitious ideas through the opportunity of an exhibition – the scale allowed me to incorporate 3D work (the violins) on a plinth, and a piece of creative writing from the “Chance and Order” project in which i randomly chose words and composed a piece of writing from a word pool which reads :

Silence, could it be darkness? It’s marrow always screams bone not density. Breath in the squawked oxygen calling lightness crushed as though diamond. She had only charred ash. They were exploding sun carbon like sever nothing. It was gasping voice.”
